About The Artist

Ellectra Art

Donka Nucheva (professionally known as Ellectra) is a Bulgarian-born figurative artist who has been based in the UK since 2011. Drawn early to figurative art, she spent her formative years refining her technical skill and developing a distinctive artistic voice.

Ellectra began her professional practice painting large-scale Trompe L’oeil murals for hotels, restaurants, and private properties in Bulgaria. Working across a variety of mediums and styles, her illusionistic murals challenged spatial perception and earned her national recognition and media attention. During this period, she trained at the National High School of Fine Arts in Bulgaria, where she specialised in sculpture. Following her formal education, she returned to her longstanding focus on figurative painting.

After relocating to the UK, Ellectra navigated the challenges of establishing herself in a new cultural and artistic landscape. Harnessing the reach of social media, her work gained visibility among collectors and curators, leading to exhibition opportunities across Scotland and England.

Ellectra’s work is instantly recognisable for its masterful command of light, vibrant use of colour, and an ethereal atmospheric quality. Her paintings celebrate the female form, capturing moments of sensuality, intimacy, and quiet strength, inviting viewers into a refined and emotive visual experience.

Through the support of collectors and clients worldwide, Ellectra’s work now resides in private collections across the globe. She remains deeply grateful to those who have supported her practice and taken a moment to engage with her work.
